Shirley G. (Bensaia) Macchi of Framingham, formerly of Hyde Park, and Jamaica Plain, passed away on November 20, 2008 surrounded by her family. She was 83. She was the beloved wife of the late Matthew McGovern and Alfred Macchi.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Grace (Lane) Bensaia.
She was the devoted mother of Linda J. (McGovern) Davies and her husband Wayne of Hopkinton and Valerie G. (McGovern) Ryder and her husband Charles of Walpole. She was the loving and cherished grandmother of Matthew and Jason Ryder and Garrett and Brandt Davies. She was the sister of the late Alvan Bensaia.
Funeral from the P.E. Murray-George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 2000 Centre St., West Roxbury, Tuesday at 9 AM. Funeral mass in St. Theresa’s Church, West Roxbury, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 PM. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury.
