Neal J. Bryant, 53, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully at home,Thursday, November 20, 2008, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late William and Marion (McFadden) Bryant. He graduated from Bishop Stang High School, and received his Bachelor's degree in Business from Bryant University.
Mr. Bryant was employed with the U.S. Postal Service in Providence, RI., for 20 years. More recently he was self-employed as a financial advisor and insurance broker.
Neal was an avid sports fan and loved the New York Yankees and the New York Football Giants. He had many other interests including traveling, the stock market and radio talk shows. He also loved his cat Smudge.
Survivors include three brothers, William Bryant, David Bryant and his wife Elizabeth, and Daniel Bryant and his wife Linda, all of New Bedford; two sisters, Hope Linda Dupuis and her husband George of Venice, FL, and Marie Burns and her husband Brian of McLean, VA; and many nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 9 AM in Holy Name of the Sacred Heart Church, New Bedford. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday 4-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park Street, New Bedford. Remembrances in his memory may be made to the National Shrine of St. Jude, 205 W.
