WEST PALM BEACH, FL - Eugene C. Shea, 79, a resident of West Palm Beach, FL, formerly of Dracut and Lawrence, died unexpectedly Friday November 14th at his home. He was the husband of Joyce M. (Myers) Shea who died in 2000.
He was born in Lawrence on October 20, 1929, and was a son of the late Eugene and Elizabeth (Croston) Shea. He received his education in Lawrence schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School.
Mr. Shea retired from the United States Navy at the rank of Chief after 30 years of service to his country.
After serving in the Navy, he was employed in car sales and retired as the general manager of Clark Motors in Methuen.
He is survived by a son Patrick Shea and his fiancee Terry Kubica, both of Boynton Beach, FL; two daughters and sons-in-law Katherine and Gerard Goodsell of Hadley, and Brenda and Thomas Bomil of Dracut; ten grandchildren Kevin, Ryan, and Jeffrey Goodsell, Daniel, Joseph, Timothy, Courtney, and Patrick Shea, and Timothy and William Bomil; a brother Philip Shea of Phoenix, AZ; a dear friend Donna McFadden of West Palm Beach, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late Michael Shea and the brother of the late Cornelia Quirk.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT, on Monday from 8 until 9:15 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 AM at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Dracut.
