Edwina Demers 85, of 547 Clinton St. died Wednesday at RI Hospital. She was the wife of the late Normand Demers. Mrs. Demers was born in Woonsocket a daughter of the late Adelard and Rose (Massicotte) Riendeau. She was employed by AARP and worked in various positions for local businesses including Dress for Success and City Hall. She also worked as a bookkeeper for the former Miller Electric Co. for many years.
Mrs. Demers is survived by a sister Hermine Marchand of Woonsocket, a brother Gerard Riendeau of Norfolk, MA, and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, donations to a cause for battered women in her memory would be appreciated.
