Mary E. McLaughlin, age 96, of Woburn passed away November 18th at the Winchester Hospital following a short illness. She was the beloved wife of the late William E. McLaughlin Jr. Born in Woburn she was the daughter of the late Katherine (McGreal) and William J. Brown.
Mary was a life long resident of Woburn and graduated from St. Charles High School with the class of 1930. Mary worked for many years as an office clerk for the Wilcox Insurance Co. of Woburn. She also worked for a number of years at Sylvania in North Woburn and for the Woburn Supply Co. Mary belonged to the Business and Professional Women's Club of Woburn and was a former board member of the Woburn Housing Authority, a position that she was very proud to hold and to contribute to the good work performed by the board for the City of Woburn.
In addition to her late Husband, Mary is predeceased by two daughters, Jeanne M. McLaughlin and Ruth A. Mulrenan. She is also predeceased by her sisters, Rita McKittrick, Josephine Bryant, and brothers James H. Brown, John P. Brown and William E. Brown.
She is survived by her daughters, Rita Stone of Woburn, Ann P, Barnett of Maine, Carol A. Lynch of Woburn and Mary E. McLaughlin of Maine. She was the loving grandmother of 25 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She is further survived by her sisters, Kathryn Gavin of Medford and Dorothy A. Brown of Woburn.
Her funeral service will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Saturday, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
