WORCESTER-Anthony B Dumbrauskas 87 of Worcester, died Tuesday, April 22, in UMass-Memorial Hospital, University Campus following an illness.
He was the husband of Isabelle (Cavalieri) Dumbrauskas who died last December. Mr. Dumbrauskas is survived by a step-daughter Marie J Blanchard of Shrewsbury, a cousin Edmond Palilunas of Worcester; a grandson and two great grandchildren.He was born in Amsterdam, New York, son of Alexander and Agnes (Kinderis) Dumbrauskas and lived in Worcester for most of his life. He was educated in Worcester schools and later served in the Army during World War II, He saw service in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre of Operations. Mr. Dumbrauskas worked as Head Baker for State Mutual Life Assurance Company, retiring in 1981. He previously worked as Head Baker at the former Toupin's Bakery then on Main Street in Worcester.
He was a longtime member of Saint Casimir Parish and the Vernon Hill Post American Legion.
The funeral will be held Saturday April 26th from Henry-Dirsa Funeral Home, 33 Ward Street (www.worcesterfuneral.com), with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Saint Casimir Church, 41 Providence Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 Saturday in the funeral home. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
