Obituary

SALEM - I. Marie (Fraser) Daigle, of Salem, wife of the late Euclide “Kit” Daigle, died Monday, November 17, 2008 in the Salem Hospital following a short illness.

Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Ervin and Harriet “Hattie” (Pettipas) Fraser.

Marie was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School and the Lynn Hospital School of Nursing and was employed as a registered nurse at Lynn Hospital and later at Salem Hospital until her retirement in 1989. In her retirement years, she was employed by Catholic Charities, where she also did volunteer work.

A resident of Salem for most of her life, Mrs. Daigle was an active parishioner of the St. Thomas The Apostle Church and was a member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. She was an active member of the Salem AARP Chapter #2454 where she was served as a member and recording secretary of the board of directors.

Mrs. Daigle is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Yong Cha “Kim” Daigle of Mililani, Hawaii, Bruce and Jane Daigle of Salem, two daughters and a son-in-law, Annette Daigle Quimby of Plaistow, NH, Joan and Robert Davenport, Jr. of Beverly, 8 grandchildren, Michael Daigle, Specialist Stephen C. Daigle, US Army, Bryan Daigle, Alisha Daigle, Matthew Quimby, Amanda Quimby, Christopher Davenport, Ryan Davenport, one sister, Edna Daigle of Deerfield, NH and several loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one grandson, Nathan Richard Daigle, one brother, Ervin Fraser, Jr., and one sister, Doris Collucci.

Her funeral service will be held Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 9 am from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 am at the St. Thomas The Apostle Church, Route 114, 1 Margin St., Peabody, at the Salem Line.
