Charles A.Collins, Sr., 84, of Central Pike, died Tuesday at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Sarah C. (Leidemer) Collins.
Born in Scituate, he was the son of the late Clarence E. and Alice M. (Cameron) Collins. He had been a lifelong resident of Scituate.
Mr. Collins was the owner of Collins Burner Service since 1949 and S & C Collins Bus Company since 1967. He was a Master plumber and Master piper fitter and was a dealer for the former Leheigh Bottled Gas Company.
Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter Julie Papineau of Mount Eden, Kentucky and a son Councilman Charles
“Chuck” Collins, Jr., Ret. SPD, and his wife Robin, of Scituate, four grandsons and , Eddie, Alan, Michael and Chucky, eight great grandchildren,and a great great grandson, a sister Elsie Grist and a brother Edgar Collins, both of Scituate. He was the brother of the late Clarence Brown, Nina Devolve and John Collins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 9:00am in St. Joseph Church, Danielson Pike, North Scituate. Burial will be in Phillips Memorial Cemetery, Foster. Visitation Friday 4-8pm in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville.
