Belmont-Frances Ida Binette, 89, of Heritage Terrace died Wednesday morning, November 19, 2008 at Lakes Region General Hospital after a period of declining health.
Frances was born in Laconia on September 28, 1919, the daughter of the late Arthur and Leda (Fugere) Hebert. She had been a lifelong resident of Belmont.
Prior to her retirement Frances was employed by the U.S. Forestry Service as an archeologist assistant. She had also worked at the former Morin Mills and Cormier Hosiery.
Frances was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish in Belmont. She was a former communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Laconia, a member of the Ladies of St. Anne, and the Catholic Daughters of America.
Frances was predeceased by her husband, Emile Binette, Jr., in 1967, and by four of her siblings, Helen, Rita, Lillian, and Leon.
Frances is survived by two sons, Richard Binette, Sr. and his wife Barbara of Belmont, and Donald Binette and Ruth of Belmont; two daughters, Mary Binette and Sylvia of Kentucky, and Rachel Mitchell and her husband Don of Michigan; one brother, Raymond Foster and his wife Claire of Vermont; two sisters, Ruth Cormier and Pauline Rudzinski and her husband Bill all of Laconia; 5 grandchildren, Edward, Joe, Jim, Donny, and Elaine. 6 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews also survive Frances.
Visiting hours were held on Friday November 21, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday November 22, 2008 at St. Joseph Parish, 96 Main Street Belmont at 10:00 a.m. Burial followed in the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia.
