Obituary

Malcolm L. Greene, 90 years of Brockton, died November 16, 2008. He was the husband for 70 years of Beatrice L. (Cobbett) Greene. Born, raised and educated in Brockton he was the son of the late Joseph H. and Lucy M. (White) Greene. During WWII he had been employed by the Quincy Shipyard as a Shipfitter; had been employed at Catholic Charities in Brockton and for over 30 years was a self employed home improvement contractor in the South Shore area. He was a man who had a great sense of humor, enjoyed volunteering to drive the blind to doctors appointments, fishing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children Malcolm, Jr., Daniel and his wife Kathy, and Janice Fitzgerald and her husband Charlie; seven grandchildren, Sharon Cleveland, Valerie Flanagan, Michelle, Brian and Katharine Greene, Shawn and Ryan Fitzgerald; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; his sister Madeline Cunningham and a former daughter-in law Roberta Greene. He was the father of the late Timothy Greene and brother of the late Beatrice, Joseph Jr., and Gordon Greene.

Funeral Service in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 10am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted. Donations in Malcolm’s name may be made to Catholic Charities, 686 N. Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301, for online donations click here
