DRACUT - Frank J. DeFabio, 68, of Dracut, formerly of Hookset, NH, died Tuesday morning in his home following a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband for 17 years of Catherine E. (Koutrobis) DeFabio of Dracut.
Born in Skylerville, NY on November 29, 1939, he was the son of the late Frank J. and Rozina (Gay) DeFabio. He received his education in the Skylerville school system and was a graduate of Skylerville High School class of 1957.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during Peace Time as a member of the United States Air Force.
In his early years Mr. DeFabio had been employed as the Regional Sales Director by the Tilo Siding and Roofing Company. More recently and until the time of his retirement he was employed as a Chair Car Supervisor by American Medical Response.
Frank spent countless hours involved in the Manchester, NH Independent Baseball League as a coach as well as the League President. It was Frank's dream to see as many children playing baseball as possible and he was an avid Yankees Fan.
In his free time he was a Bass player with the Down Home Country Band of Manchester, NH. He also enjoyed studying History especially the World War II Era and his passion was time spent in the company of family and friends. He also enjoyed vacationing at Myrtle Beach, SC.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son Michael DeFabio of Manchester, NH; two daughters Deborah DeFabio and Rose Ann Roetzel and her husband Bernie all of Manchester, NH; three stepchildren Andrea Boudreau and her husband Ronald of TN, Chris Andricopoulos of HI and Anthony Andricopoulos of Dracut; four grandchildren Ryan and Michael DeFabio and Ashley and Emily Roetzel; six step grandchildren Megan, Ashley, Brittany, Heather, Tiffany and Kiley; one sister and brother-in-law Janice and Neil Clifford of Salem, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Thursday from 4 until 8 PM. His Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Friday at 8 AM followed by his Funeral Mass celebrated at 9 AM in Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish at Ste. Therese Church, Dracut.
