Ruth Ruffen, 84, a lifelong resident of Lawrence, Massachusetts died on Sunday, November 16, 2008 at the Academy Manor Nursing Home in Andover, Massachusetts.
She was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on September 2, 1924 to Joseph and Madeline Arsenault. She was educated in Lawrence Schools. Mrs. Ruffen worked as an Operator for the Lawrence General for 30 years until her retirement in 2004 later she also did volunteer work at the Lawrence General Hospital until 2008. She was a parishioner of St. Augustine Church in the Towerhill section. According to her family she loved and adored her great grand daughter Alyssa. She also loved to spend time with her family.
She is the wife of the late Philip Ruffen and her four children: Phyllis Shirtliff of Manchester, NH, Donna Therrien of Manchester, NH, William Ruffen of Clinton, MA, and John P. Ruffen of Methuen, MA. Also 11 grand children: Russell, Lisa, Patty, Jeffrey, Shauna, Jayson, Chad, Ryan, Brittany, Justin and Christopher, as well as several great grand children. She is predeceased by Richard Ruffen and Leslie Ruffen.
Funeral services are private at the request of the family.
