Thelma E. (Craig) Saucier, 94, of New Bedford died November 16, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, the second oldest daughter of the late Henry Martin Francis Craig and Ruth Ann Craig, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Previously a member of COGOP and later a member of the Potters Chapel, she always proclaimed her love for the Lord and spent her remaining years serving God.
She was formerly employed as a fish cutter in several local fish houses for many years until retirement.
Survivors include her daughters, Robin Ashley-Ribeiro and her husband Kenneth Ribeiro and Rose Dion, all of New Bedford; a son, Kenyon Craig and his wife Lorraine Craig of New Bedford; two sisters, Agnes Quarles and Barbara Craig, both of New Bedford; two brothers-in-law, Frank Saucier and Roger Desmarais, both of Fall River; five grandchildren, Lamont, Kevin, Heidi, Corrie and Nicole; eight great-grandchildren, Kyle, Shylia, Jarris, Tyrin, Alyciana, Jayden, Lakeisha and Janaeja; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Elsie Craig, Joann Craig, Henry Craig, Jr. and Raymond Craig.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 20th at 10 AM in the Union Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Acushnet Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday, November 19th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford.
