Lowell H. “Mac” McEwen, 89, of Salem Oregon died Saturday, November 15 at Salem Hospital in Salem, Oregon.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Sunday, November 23 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Saturday evening and 12-2, Sunday at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. McEwen was born July 21, 1919 in Irwin County to the late Albert and Lovela Holland McEwen. He grew up in Irwin County. As a young man, he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps and then served his country as a U.S. Navy Seabee during World War II. After the war, Mr. McEwen married Blannie Nash and settled in the Atlanta area where he had a career as a dental technician. In 1999 Mr. McEwen and his wife moved to Salem, Oregon to be near their daughter and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Blannie Nash McEwen, daughter, Gail McEwen, son-in-law, Brian Gregor, grandchildren, Alexander Gregor and Katelin Gregor all of Salem, Oregon; brother & sister-in-law. Lanier & Marie McEwen of Fitzgerald.
