Charles Edwin Hood, 55 of Baconton, formerly of Tifton, died Saturday, November 15, 2008, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2008, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Joe Wiggins will officiate with burial to follow in Williams Cemetery on the Old Union Road. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 16, 2008, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Hood was born on September 18, 1953 in Tift County and was the son of William Hood and Florene Griffin Hood, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Hood. He was a mechanic and of the Pentecostal faith.
Mr. Hood is survived by his wife, Betty Barber Wood of Tifton; three sons, Charles Hood, Jr. of Tifton, Timothy Hood of Tifton, and William Hood of Tifton; one daughter, Rebecca Hood of Tifton; two brothers, Larry Hood of Tifton and Tony Hood of Tallahassee; six sisters, Shirley Brewington of Tifton, Charlotte Lovell of Cordele, Barbara Lovell of Vienna, Diane Hayes of Tifton, Kay Rizer of Tifton, Mary Jo Griner of Baconton; and 15 grandchildren.
