Obituary

Joseph A. DiMarino Sr., 70, of Franklin and formerly of Framingham, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at the MetroWest Medical Center in Natick, following a brief illness. He was the husband of Judith A. (McAuley) DiMarino.
Born in Boston in 1938, a son of the late John and Helen (Haverty) DiMarino, he was raised and educated in Boston, and had lived in Franklin for the past 25 years.
Mr. DiMarino had worked as a photo engraver, starting his career at Capital Engraving on Congress Street in Boston, and then for the Dennison Manufacturing Co. in Framingham. He also worked for the Boston Globe and most recently had been working for the Boston Herald.
Mr. DiMarino served in the United States Navy and attained the rank of petty officer and was honorably discharged in March 1961.
He enjoyed traveling to Maine, being near the ocean, saltwater fishing, reading, history, and western movies.

He was a member of the Graphic Communication International Union and GCU Local 600. He was a communicant of St. Judes Church in Norfolk.
In addition to his wife of 41 years, he is survived by a son, Joseph A. DiMarino Jr. of Franklin; two brothers, John C. DiMarino of Gloucester and James L. DiMarino of Rowley; two sisters, Catherine Stanley of Beverly and Helen M. Forte of Florida. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Paul S. DiMarino.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 10 a.m., at St. Judes Church, 86 Main St., Norfolk, MA 02056.
Interment will be private.
