Ann M. (Stone) Lajeunesse, 83, of Mattapoisett died Saturday November 15, 2008 at St. Luke's Hosptial after a brief illness. She was the wife of Ernest G. Lajeunesse.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late William and Mary (Hughes) Stone, she lived in New Bedford and Dartmouth before moving to Mattapoisett 33 years ago.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church.
Mrs. Lajeunesse was formerly employed as a cafeteria cashier for the New Bedford School Department until her retirement.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed going to the beach at Ned's Point in Mattapoisett and in Florida where she wintered for many years.
Survivors include her husband; a son, David E. Lajeunesse and his companion Nancy of Dartmouth; two grandsons, Scott M. Lajeunesse and his wife Elizabeth and their children, Zachary, Nathan, Sarah, and Brooke, and Brian D. Lajeunesse and his wife Ali; a niece and several nephews.
She was the sister of the late William Stone, Lois Gifford, and Eileen Murphy.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM at St. Anthony's Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
