Obituary

Marlene B. Dooling, 70, passed away at the Golden Living Center in Lexington on November 14th, 2008. She was born in Chelsea on February 19th, 1938 to her parents Thomas and Bernice (Smith) Martin. Marlene was raised in Chelsea where she attended the St. Rose School. She has been a resident of Medford since 1966. She was a homemaker who also worked as an Assistant Education Director at Massachusetts Citizens for Life in Charlestown for several years. Marlene was a parishioner at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Medford and in years past she was a member of the St. Francis Womens Club. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Matthew F. Dooling; by her children, Mark Dooling and his wife Marybeth of Quincy, Michael Dooling and his wife Lisa of Tewksbury and Gregg Dooling and his wife Robin of Medford; and by her brothers, James Martin of Mashpee and Robert Martin of Lexington. Marlene was the beloved Grammy of Kelly, Sean, Alanna, Matthew and Colleen Dooling. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Thomas and Donald Martin and by her sister Joan Taylor. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden at Medford line on Wednesday Nov. 19th at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Medford at 10 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday November 18th from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
