Louis D. Sear, 86, of Sturbridge and formerly of Worcester, died Tuesday, April 22nd in Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Worcester. He leaves his long- time companion, Barbara E. Tesser, of Sturbridge; a sister, Louise Sear of Worcester; nieces and nephews. Three brothers, George, Albert, and Joseph Sear, and two sisters, Olga Wood and Lillian Abdelmaseh predeceased him.
Mr. Sear was born in Fall River, son of David and Stella (Bshara) Sear and lived in Worcester for many years prior to moving to Sturbridge several years ago. He graduated from Commerce High School and served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He owned and managed a shopping center in Shrewsbury for more than 20 years.
He was a member of St. George Orthodox Cathedral, the Syrian Brotherhood Orthodox Society, and Athelstan Lodge of Masons, all in Worcester.
The funeral will be held on Monday, April 28th, at 11:30 a.m. in St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are 5-8 p.m. Sunday, April 27th in Nordgren Memorial Chapel(NordgrenMemorialChapel.com), 300 Lincoln Street. A Trisagion Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 27th in the funeral home.
