DRACUT - Wanda P. "Ann" (Plachna) Casey, 80, a lifelong resident of Dracut, died Thursday November 13th at her home. She was the beloved wife of Henry B. Casey to whom she was married for 56 years.
She was born in Dracut on November 30, 1927, and was a daughter of the late Stanley and Anna (Cebula) Plachna. She received her education in Dracut schools and was a graduate of Dracut High School. She also attended Lowell Teacher's College.
Mrs. Casey spent most of her life tending to the needs of her home and family. She was an extraordinary homemaker, who enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, and entertaining.
Prior to starting a family, Mrs. Casey was employed by the Lawrence Eagle Tribune and Lawrence Gas and Electric. Later in life she was employed as the Office Manager at the Teamsters Local Union #49 in Dracut.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed her winters in Florida for over 20 years, and she loved ballroom dancing with her husband.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Martha and Kevin Devereaux of Princeton, Kristine and James Dunbar of Hubbardston, and Janet and Stephen Adie of Dracut; eight grandchildren Lindsay, Brendan, Casey, and Colin Devereaux, Heather and Sarah Dunbar, and Kevin and Kyle Adie; two sisters, Janina Boumil of Dracut, and Stephanie Sorota of Texas; a sister-in-law, Frances Ahearn of Chelmsford, many special nieces and nephews, including Meredith Boumil-Flynn of Dracut; and her lifelong dear friend Mary Colburn of Dracut.
She was also the sister of the late Sophie Davies, Thaddeus and Robert Plachna.

Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Sunday from 2 until 6 PM. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Monday at 7:45 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9 AM at St. Francis Church in Dracut. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Lowell. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Dracut Scholarship Foundation PO Box 117, Dracut, MA 01826. .
