Gertrude L. (Barrette) L’Esperance 61, of Verdun St, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the Oakland Grove Health Center Thursday, November 13th. She was the loving wife of Aime L’Esperance. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Bertrand and Rena (Remillard) Barret.
Mrs. L’Esperance was a customer service representative for the Mastor’s and Servant Insurance Agency in East Greenwich for sixteen years retiring in January of this year due to illness. She was an avid supporter of her grandson’s sports activities, attending all their youth baseball, football, and soccer games with great enthusiasm.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters; Christine L’Esperance of Woonsocket, and Tricia Patrie and her husband Robert of Woonsocket, three grandchildren, Jonathan, Ryan, and Joshua Patrie, and one sister Diana Lambert also of Woonsocket.
Her funeral will be held Monday from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Visiting hours will be Sunday 5-8pm. Commital service will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham.
