Flora Fay Gilpatric, 64, a six-year resident of Derry, NH, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at her home surrounded by her family. Flora was born in Sanford, ME on February 11, 1944, a daughter of the late John and Beatrice (Hall) Gilpatric. She moved with her family to North Reading, MA when she was 10 years old. Flora worked as a cook for the Digital Cafeteria in Salem, NH and also at Nicky and Jackie’s Diner. She enjoyed painting and gardening and loved all animals, especially her pets.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, George Medvecky of Salem, NH, her brother, James R. Gilpatric and his wife Reta L., of Millbury, MA, two daughters, Carlene Fitzgerald and her husband James, Jr. of Auburn, NH, Wanda Joanne Joncas of North Andover, MA, a son, William A. Woods and his wife Barbara of North Andover, MA, 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Deborah Lee Woods.
Visiting hours were held Sunday, November 16, 2008 from 4-8pm with a 7:00PM funeral service in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Following cremation the burial will be in the Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence, MA, with her daughter.
