LOWELL - Dorothy E. (Fitzgerald) Coviello, 87, a former executive assistant at Tewksbury Hospital, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening, November 11, at Saints Medical Center in Lowell. She was the wife of the late Arthur W. Coviello, who died in 1982.
She was born in South Boston, April 5, 1921, a daughter of the late Maurice and Ellen (Mahoney) Fitzgerald, but had lived in Lowell the greater part of her life. She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as the executive secretary to the Superintendent at Tewksbury Hospital.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jane E. and Harry Persichetti of Lowell, a son and daughter-in-law, Arthur W. Coviello Jr., and his wife Catherine Coviello of Boston; five grandchildren, Amy Cianciaruso of No. Andover, Jill Weeks of Amesbury, Arthur W, Coviello of Washington, D.C., Regina Coviello of Newton, Natalie Coviello of Hollis, NH; two great grandchildren, Alex and Aiden; and a sister, Gertrude Whittemore of Dedham.
She was also sister of the late Arthur Fitzgerald.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, Nov. 15, in the Immaculate Conception Church, Lowell. Burial followed at St, Mary Cemetery, No. Tewksbury. Memorials to the Monastery of St. Clare, (Poor Clares) 460 River Rd., Andover, MA 01810, will be appreciated.
