William J. Butterworth, 85, of Freedom Court,a 60 year Johnston resident, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at Fatima Hospital in North Providence. He was the husband of the late Hope (Walton) Butterworth.
He was a WWII Navy Veteran and had worked as a calendar operator for Uniroyal in Providence for 27 years before retiring in 1972.
He is survived by his son William J. Butterworth, III and his wife Milinda, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and siblings Florence Mackin and Raymond Butterworth. He was the brother of the late James and John Butterworth.
His funeral will be held Friday at 9am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Johnston. Visitation Thursday 5-7pm.
