
Stanley W. Wasel, age 79, a resident of Winchester for over 50 years, passed away at Hearthstone Nursing Center at Choate in Woburn on Nov. 10, 2008, after a long illness. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Anthony J. and Valerie (Lash) Wasel. A graduate of Northeastern University, Mr. Wasel served in the Army Reserve before marrying his wife, the late Charlotte (Karpowitz), with whom he shared over 40 years of marriage until her passing in 2000. Stanley was employed as a Technical Writer with Raytheon Corp. for over 35 years. A kind and dedicated father, he was a dexterous handyman and loved to eat. He was the loving father of Loren Wasel Schipani and her husband Michael Schipani of Winchester, and the brother of Thomas Wasel of Clearwater, FL and the late Robert Wasel of Silver Springs, MD. He was the dear grandfather of Elke and Emma Schipani of Winchester, and is further survived by several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held in the First Congregational Church, 21 Church St. (on the common), Winchester, on Tues. Nov. 18 at10AM. Visiting hours will be held in the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Mon. from 4-8PM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
