Harry Vickers Rainey, 60, of Tifton died Monday, November 10, 2008, at his residence. Graveside memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2008, in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Pat Marchant, Scott Duggan and Mr. Rainey's sons, Jeremy David Rainey, Jonathan Michael Defore and William Spain Kelley, III will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 13, 2008, at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 12:00 noon until the hour of the service.
Mr. Rainey was born on January 27, 1948 in Tift County and was the son of Carl Rainey, Sr. and Thelma Vickers Rainey, both deceased. He was owner of Rainey's Body Shop in Tifton and was a member of Tifton's First Baptist Church. He had lived in Tift County all of his life.
Mr. Rainey is survived by his wife, Tommie Gunter Rainey of Tifton; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Jeremy David and Darcy Rainey of Nashville, Jonathan Michael Defore of Saint Mary's, and William Spain Kelley, III of Fitzgerald; one brother, Carl Rainey, Jr. of Bethlehem; and three grandchildren, Landon David Rainey of Nashville, William Spain Kelley, IV of Fitzgerald and Adam Lee Kelley of Fitzgerald.
