LOWELL—Irene (Horvath) Schneider, 98 years old, a resident of Lowell for several years, died Saturday afternoon, November 8th, at Woodbriar of Wilmington. She was the wife of the late Ladjslaus Schneider, who died in July of 1986.
She was born in Manhattan, NY, on May 20, 1910, a daughter of the late Ernest and Elizabeth (Szentmariay) Horvath, and was educated in New York Public Schools. She was a graduate of Drake’s Business School.
Mrs. Schneider had been employed for over 25 years at Bloomingdales, Macy’s and Gimbel’s Department Stores in New York, retiring in 1978.
Surviving her are two daughters: Josephine Williams, of Palm Bay, FL; and Elizabeth Bufano, of Tewksbury; six grandchildren: Jo Ann Vozeh, of Ramsay, NJ; Paulette Williams Davis, of Palm Bay, FL; Andrew Bufano, of Tewksbury; Peter, David and Lisa Bufano, all of Boston.
She was the sister of the late Stephen Horvath.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass to be offered at 9:30 AM on Thursday, November 13th at ST. ROBERT BELLARMINE CHURCH, 198 Haggett’s Pond Road, Andover. Burial to take place at St. Anthony Cemetery, in Nanuet, NY, on Friday.
