Haverhill, MA- Lorraine M. (Therrien) Cody, 83, died Saturday, November 8th at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill after a brief illness.
Born on September 24, 1925 in Haverhill, Lorraine was the daughter of Frederick and Florence (Geddes) Therrien. Educated in Haverhill Schools, Mrs. Cody went on to work at Western Electric in Haverhill, the Kenoza Manor Nursing Home in Haverhill and was also an officer of Cody’s Office Products in Lawrence.
Lorraine was active in the community, being a member of the Haverhill Grange and served in the Women’s Army Corp. during World War II. She was currently a resident at The Oxford in Haverhill, and was a former resident of Plaistow and Atkinson, NH as well as Methuen, MA.
The widow of Alexander J. Cody, Lorraine is survived by her six children, Robert Cody and his wife Mary of Lawrence, Maureen Little of Andover, Gloria Cody and her husband Dennis Cholewinski of Camp Hill, PA, Daniel Cody and his wife Mary of Windham, NH, Deborah Witty and her husband Joseph of Sandown, NH and Michael Cody of Hardwick, VT. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, whom she called her precious bundles from Heaven, and 9 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews and many close friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, November 12th from 5-8PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence, St. in Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 13th at 9 AM at St. Monica’s Church in Methuen, with burial to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
