Gloria J. (Pacheco) Westgate, wife of Mervyn Westgate, died at Marian Manor on Sunday, Nov. 9th at the age of 76.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Carvalho) Pacheco.
Educated in Taunton schools, she graduated from Taunton High School in 1951.
An engraver and office worker for the former Princess House, she retired in 1990.
She was a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Church, the St. Nicholas Women’s Guild, the Weir Seniors and the Happy Hearts.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Michelle Jackson; a brother, James Pacheco; a sister, Alice Gonsalves; and 2 grandchildren, Leanne and Joshua Jackson; all of Taunton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Lee Salgado, Veronica Lema, Mary Perreault, Hilda Travers, Palmira Mello, Alexander Pacheco, Anthony Pacheco and Joseph Pacheco.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Wednesday, Nov 12th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Nicholas of Myra Church, N. Dighton at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be Tuesday, Nov. 11th from 5 to 8 p.m. www.silvafuneralhome.com.
