Haverhill, MA – Clifford R. Blood, 83, died Friday November 7, 2008 in Haverhill at the Merrimack Valley Hospital.
Mr. Blood was born in Medford, the son of Lester and Violet (Forrest) Blood. He graduated from Arlington High School. Clifford had also resided in Lexington, Ma. where he belonged to the Simon W. Robinson Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M.
Mr. Blood was the self-employed owner of Clifford R. Blood Associates a representative of manufacturing in the packaging industry.
During World War II he served his country in the United States Navy and received the Purple Heart. Clifford was decorated by the Secretary of Navy before being honorably discharged at wars end.
For many years he had been an ardent student of golf.
Clifford was the former widower of Barbara A. (Mele) and is currently married to Patricia (Salem) Blood.
Survivors include: One daughter Gretchen and her husband Henry Miller of Springfield, NY, and one son Clifford R., Jr. and his wife Nanda Blood of Medford, Ma., 5 grandchildren Carrie, Melissa, Katie, Meredith, and Clifford R., 4 greatgrandchildren Shelby, Hailey, Lena, and Alan Jr. stepdaughters; Kimberly Salem, Laurie Enos, Deborah Andrews, and 2 step-grandchildren Michael and Nick Enos.
A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday morning at 11o’clock in Redeemer Lutheran Church-ELCA in Lawrence.
Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery of Methuen.
Friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
