WORCESTER-Lillian M. Stone, 94 of 4 Cheever Street died Monday, December 31st in her home. She leaves her sister Gertrude R. Taylor, and 2 nephews Gerald F. and James D. Taylor all of Worcester, and 7great nieces. A brother Alfred Stone of Worcester pre-deceased her.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Edmund and Mary Ellen (Cole) Stone. She was a graduate of Worcester State Teachers College and earned her Master's Degree from Boston University. Miss Stone had been a schoolteacher for the Worcester Public School system for 40 years, she retired in 1973. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Miss Stone was twice named “Teacher of the Year” by the Worcester Public Schools.
The funeral will be Friday, January 4th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Scared Heart of Jesus Church, 600 Cambridge Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday January 3rd from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
