Sovilla Griner Rutland, 92, of Milledgeville, formerly of Berrien County, passed away Monday, August 1, 2005. A graveside funeral service was held for Mrs. Rutland at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2005, at the Rutland Family Cemetery in Tifton. The Rev. Gary James officiated.
Mrs. Rutland was a native of Berrien County but had made her home in Milledgeville. She was a homemaker; and she was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Neal Griner and Maggie Rebecca Drawdy Griner; and her husband, Jesse Eugene Rutland.
Mrs. Rutland is survived by one son, Dan Rutland of Franklin, Tennessee; one daughter, Carrie Shermer of Gordon; two half-sisters, Ruby Johnson and Versa Sutton, both of Nashville; and one grandson, Kenneth Michael Shermer of Charlotte, North Carolina.
