Mary Frances Blalock (Bonnie Blalock to friends and family), 74, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2005, at her residence. Her funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2005, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Johnny Smith officiating. Mrs. Blalock was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Rick Bromlow, Jacob Hines, T. J. Mauldin, Allan Cason, Ronnie Bromlow, Luther Blalock, Jr., Randy Blalock and Randy Bromlow served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the Rev. Byron Perry, Dick Tompkins, Bud Hester, Richard Axon, Johnny Ford and Billy Selph.
Born December 13, 1930, in Omega, Mrs. Blalock was the daughter of the late Homer S. Bromlow and Viola Selph Bromlow. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Thomas Blalock, who passed away in 1977; two brothers, Ralph Bromlow and Myrs Bromlow; and one sister, Lucille Henderson. She worked as a childcare provider for many years; and she was the pastor of Bethel Bible Tabernacle in Sumner for approximately 15 years until her illness forced her to retire. She had lived in Tifton all of her life.
Mrs. Blalock is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Gail and Sonny Hargett, Karen and Joe Luke and Jill Blalock McDuffie, all of Tifton; two brothers, Bobby Bromlow of Panama City Beach, Florida and W. L. Bromlow of Tifton; one sister, Sybil Squires of Palatka, Florida; six grandchildren and their spouses, Jessica and Allan Cason, Allison Yeary, Mary Beth Yeary, Jacob Hines and Karla Hargett, all of Tifton and LeAnne and Mahmod Panahi of Canton; and three great-grandsons, Nicholas, Harlee and Blake.
