Evelyn Smith Bruner, 70, of Sparks, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2005, at her residence. Her funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2005, at Maranatha Community Baptist Church in Lenox with the Rev. David Smith and the Rev. Wayne Driskell officiating. Mrs. Bruner was laid to rest at Lenox Cemetery.
Randy Tyson, Troy Smith, Todd Smith, Keith Newell, Shawn Hollis, Joel Gandy, Jason Walker and Shane Bruce served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Raymond Dennis, Brandon Gandy and Dale Mullins.
Born August 21, 1935, in Cordele, Mrs. Bruner was the daughter of the late Robert Miner Smith and Maebell McGee Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Grover Bruner, who passed away on April 29, 1998; one son; one daughter; and one great-granddaughter. She was retired from Tifton Aluminum Company; and she was a member of the Church of God of Faith. She had lived in Sparks for 42 years.
Mrs. Bruner is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Wanda Sue Bruner of Sparks; one brother, Warnell Smith of Boca Raton, Florida; one sister, Lynn Beccaria of Johnston, Rhode Island; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
