Boyce Bafford Wallace, 94, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2005, at Tift Health Care. His funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2005, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. A. D. Connell and the Rev. Clayton Dowd officiating. Mr. Wallace was laid to rest at Lawrence Cemetery.
Michael Purvis, Tonoha Wallace, Justin Stone, Ricky Prince, Jerry Ivey and Joe Simpson served as pallbearers.
Born January 10, 1911, in Alabama, Mr. Wallace was the son of the late Henry Wallace and Alice Howard Bellamy Wallace. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Josephine Goddard Wallace; a daughter and her husband, Louise and Reese Beasley; one grandson, Robert Wallace; three sisters; and one brother. Before retiring, he was a textile worked and a salesman at Massey Furniture. He was a member of the Tifton Masonic Lodge; a member of Woodmen of the World; and he was of the Pentecostal faith. He had lived in Tifton since 1946.
Mr. Wallace is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Diane Wallace of Ocilla; one daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Arlie Purvis, Jr. of Tifton; one sister, Mildred Vaughn of Forsyth; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.
