William Thomas "Pat" Purvis, 69, of Sylvester passed away Monday, October 3, 2005, at his residence. A memorial service was held for Mr. Purvis at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2023, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Kevin Johnson officiating. A private burial was held for Mr. Purvis at Liberty Baptist Church Cemtery in Tifton, where he was laid to rest.
Born July 6, 1936, in Berrien County, Mr. Purvis was the son of the late James William Purvis and Nancy McMillan Purvis. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Purvis; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Virginia Kay and Patrcia and Derris Jones. He retired from the United States Army.
Mr. Purvis is survived by one son, Donald Purvis of Reidsville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Stan Aultman of Chula and Jann and Randy Lusk of Ocilla; three brothers, Wayne and Ronnie Purvis, both of Albany and Donnie Purvis of Silom, North Carolina; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, LaVern and James Watkins of Sumner, Pamela Spurlock of Funston, Betty Burke of Poulan and Marie and George Collins of Baxley; and five grandchildren, Chris Aultman, Eric Aultman, Rebecca Purvis, Jeremy Lusk and Jordan Lusk.
