Margaret E. "Mimi" (Carr) Davidson, 96, died Monday, November 3, 2008, at St. Luke's Hospital. Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Dr. Frank R. Leary and John B. Davidson, and by her stepchildren, Frank Leary Jr. and Barbara Salustri.
Margaret resided in New Bedford and Fairhaven for over 40 years. Formerly of Atlantic City, NJ, she managed the coffee shop at the famous Traymore Hotel. She shared her lifelong love of cooking and gardening with the many friends and family she welcomed in her home. With Mimi, there was always good food and fun.
She is survived by her children, Doris Avrami and Alfred Martino; four grandchildren, Louis Avrami, Nicole Blomfield, Erica Avrami, and Alexis Martino; four great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Kendall, and Lara Blomfield and Harry Avrami Saroff; and her niece, Margaret "Mitzi" Delaney. She is also survived by her step-grandchildren, Steve, Robb, Dean, Diane, and Michael Leary, David Salustri, Jeanine Furneri, and Joanne Cherep; and 15 step-great-grandchildren.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9 AM at St. Joseph's Church, Fairhaven. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, North Attleboro. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Road, Route 6, Mattapoisett.
