Carl H. Westberg, 82, formerly of 13 Whitmarsh Ave., died Saturday, April 19, in the Odd Fellows Nursing Home. His wife of 55 years, Margaret H. (Carlson) Westberg, died in 1998. He leaves a daughter, Carol L. Kemp of Worcester; a brother, Robert W. Westberg of Worcester; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A son, David A. Westberg, died in 1988. He was born in Worcester, son of Carl I. and Mary (Mangs) Westberg, and lived here most of his life. He graduated from North High School in 1939. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Westberg was a printer working in the print shop of the Norton Co. for 41 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, a member of the Norton 25 year Club, Runeberg Lodge 204 and the Greendale Retired Men's Club and its Golf Club. He was an avid golfer.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. Private burial will be in All Faiths Cemetery at the convenience of the family. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 41 Whitmarsh Ave., Worcester, MA 01609.
