Catherine A. (O'Brien) Spada - Catherine A. (O’Brien) Spada of Dedham died on November 4, 2008. She was 81. Born in Dedham, she was the daughter of the late John and Annie (Fitzhenry) O’Brien. She was a retired employee of Ursuline Academy and Polaroid Corporation.
She was the devoted mother of Ann Marie Sullivan, Nicholas, Joseph and William Spada all of Dedham, James Spada of Canton, John Spada of Franklin and Cathy Whelan of Mansfield. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was the sister of Mary Geary of Westwood, Joseph and Francis O’Brien of Dedham and the late John “Jack” O’Brien, Margaret Weir and Helen Gruberski. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Saturday at 8 AM with a funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment will follow in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
