Phyllis A. Shaw, 92, of Derry, NH, died Tuesday, November 4, 2008 in her home. Mrs. Shaw was born in Somerville, MA on February 12, 1916, a daughter of the late William J. and Elizabeth R. (Rogers) Moore. She had lived in Somerville for 22 years, prior to moving to Derry in 1966. She and her late husband John E. Shaw, Sr. were owners of the John E. Shaw Machine Shop in Derry. Mrs. Shaw enjoyed Bingo, knitting, crocheting and sewing.
She is survived by one daughter, Deanna Butler of Milton, NH; one son, John E. Shaw, Jr. of Barrington, NH; seven grandchildren, Lorraine Butler who was her caregiver for the past nine years, Deanna Colemen, Judy Butler, Kenneth Butler, Jr., William Butler, John E. Shaw, III, and Debra Shaw; six great-grandchildren and one niece. She was predeceased by her husband, John E. Shaw, Sr in 1987, and her sister Ruth Mehlsen.
Calling hours were held on Friday, November 7th from 9 - 11:00am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, with funeral services that followed at 11:00am in the funeral home. The burial was in the Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry.
