Louis S. Whitlow, Jr., 83, of New Bedford died November 3, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital.
He was the husband of Kathleen G. (Oliver) Whitlow.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Louis and Jessie (Thomas) Whitlow, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Whitlow was the former owner of Whitlow Electric and a life member of the New Bedford Master Electricians Association.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and later served in the National Guard. He was a member and past commander of the Howland Chapter Veterans Association. For many years, he helped design, install and maintain the holiday light displays at Edaville Railroad, Common Park and Buttonwood Park.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert Whitlow and his wife Joan of Dartmouth; a grandson, Matthew Whitlow and his wife Megan of Dartmouth; 3 great-grandchildren, Bethany, Ella and Rebecca.
His private funeral arrangements are with the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
