Obituary

Isobel Heflin-Dayton, 92, of N. Andover, MA, died peacefully and with dignity on Monday, November 3, 2008 in the Prescott House in N. Andover. Mrs. Heflin-Dayton was born in Glen Cove, Long Island, NY on October 24, 1916, a daughter of the late Daniel and Isabella (Hixon) Christie. She was a resident of N. Andover for the past several years, formerly living in Londonderry, NH and Syosset, L.I., NY. Mrs. Heflin-Dayton was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ransford Chapter, and a member of the Mizpah Rebekah Lodge both in Derry. She also attended the Londonderry United Methodist Church. Mrs. Heflin-Dayton had a lifelong love for animals, was an avid reader, and was a history buff.
She is survived by one son, Wesley G. Heflin and his wife Suzanne of Methuen, MA; two grandchildren, Michelle Heflin, and Holly Mayo both of Dresden, ME; and three great-grandchildren, Dallis Heflin, P.J. Mayo, and George Mayo all of Dresden, ME. She was predeceased by her husband, Wesley Heflin in 1979.
Private burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Mammoth Rd., Londonderry at a later date. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling the arrangements.
