Ruby Nell Pitts Harper, 74, of Moultrie, formerly of Tifton, died Monday, November 3, 2008, at her daughter's home in Moultrie. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2008, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Larry Wiley, Rev. Julian Griner and Rev. James Tyson will officiate with burial to follow in Union Grove Church of God Cemetery. Grandsons - Stanley Harper, Jonathan Tawzer, Dennis Wiley, Steven Wiley, Scott Young and Larry Stinson will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 5, 2008, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Harper was born on March 3, 1934 in Tifton and was the daughter of Charlie McGee Pitts and Emaline Beulah Nolen Pitts, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alvie Travis Harper; one daughter, Elaine Harper Buckland; and one sister, Wynell Newell. She was a homemaker and attended Life Spring Community Church in Moultrie.
Mrs. Harper is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Arleen and Larry Wiley of Moultrie, and Duane and Tommy Tawzer of Tifton; four brothers, Paul Pitts of Tifton, Clayton Pitts of Jacksonville, Florida, Raydean Pitts of Tifton, and James Pitts of Atlanta; three sisters, Gereline Coburn of Albany, Beverly Cohorst of Tennessee, and Linda Smith of Dawson; six grandchildren, Dennis and Steven Wiley, Cindy Johnson, Tonya Young, Stanley Harper, and Jonathan Tawzer; and eleven great grandchildren, Heather Hall, Thomas Freeman, Chris and Jessica Johnson, Brian, Austin, Joshua and Carson Young, Taylor and Travis Harper, and Westley Tawzer.
