Lydia (Arruda) Moniz, age 90 of Fall River. Widow of Antone T. Moniz, Jr. & daughter of the late Antone Massa Arruda and Maria (Carreiro) Arruda. Passed away in Fall River, Nov. 2, 2008. She was a lifelong Fall River resident, a member of St. Michael Church & was a retired sewing machine operator at Lynn Jay Mfg.
She is survived by 3 children: George Anthony Moniz & his wife Patricia Taylor Moniz of S. Dartmouth, Lana Jean and Theresa Marie Moniz both of Fall River; 2 grandchildren: Katie Taylor Moniz and Ryan Francis Taylor Moniz; several nieces & nephews. She was sister of the late Anibal and Arthur “Barney” Arruda, Sizaltina “Sally” Medeiros, Diamentina Viveiros and Gloria Oliveira.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. Saturday at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 10 AM. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 4-8 PM.
