WORCESTER-Irene E. (Hynes) Carey, 86 of 62 Eureka Street died Sunday December 30th in her home after a brief illness. She leaves here husband of 65 years Lawrence W. Carey, 2 sons William Carey of Shrewsbury and Richard S. Carey of Worcester, 3 daughters Ann Daly of Paulden, AZ, Joyce O’Leary and Carolyn Charbonneau both of Worcester; 2 sisters Andrea Manseau of Santa Monica, CA and Joan Capellini of Temple Terrace, FL; 18 grandchildren, 27 great grand-children, cousins, nephews and nieces. 1 grandchild predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Fred and Andrea (Millett) Hynes and had lived here all her life. Mrs. Carey had worked for many years at St. Vincent Hospital in the emergency room. She was a member of St. Peter’s Parish, and enjoyed line dancing.
The funeral will be Wednesday, January 2nd, from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 11:30 AM in St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street. Burial will be in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Tuesday January 1st from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
