Obituary

Leo R. Martin, 81, passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on October 30th, 2008. He was born in Lawrence on June 1st, 1927 to his parents Clephas and Marie Martin. Leo was raised in Lawrence where he attended the Sacred Heart School. He is a veteran of the United States Army who served his country honorably during the Korean War, earning the bronze star. Leo has been a resident of Medford since 1954. For over 25 years, he worked as a Laborer and Watchman for the City of Medford Department of Public Works. He was a member of the VFW in Medford. Leo was also an avid bowler, enjoyed swimming and has been a life long fan of baseball. He was a devoted husband to his late wife Rita, with whom he shared 58 years of Marriage. He is survived by his children, Sandra M. Sullivan and her husband Mark of Merrimac, Jeanne M. Martin of Medford and Steven L. Martin and his wife Debra of Chelmsford; and by his sister Anita Chabot of Methuen. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews and by many grandnieces and grandnephews. Along with his wife Rita, Leo was predeceased by his siblings, Arthur, Leo and Norman Martin, Irene LeBlanc, Hilda Gagnon, Jeanette Jean and Rita Bonito. Funeral services and interment are private.
