Frank K. D’Ambra, 80

Frank K. D’Ambra, 80, of Attleboro formerly of Mansfield died on Friday October 31, 2008 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy M. (DeCristofaro) D’Ambra.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island on October 19, 1928 He was a son of the late Mabel Casquilha and her husband the late Arthur Casquilha.
He was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Phi Beta Kappa, served in the United States Army during the Korean War and retired from Kinney Vacuum Manufacturing as a mechanical engineer.
He was a former member of the Boy Scout Council of Mansfield and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield.
Frank enjoyed golfing, gardening, greyhound racing and was an enthusiastic supporter of his grandchildren’s activities. He had his home in Attleboro for the past 6 years and was former resident of Mansfield for over 40 years.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his devoted children Denise Albertini and her husband Joseph of North Attleboro, Kenneth D’Ambra of Mansfield, Craig D’Ambra and his partner Thomas Ciliberto, Jr. of Woonsocket, R.I., Gary D’Ambra and his wife Carol of Mansfield, Bruce D’Ambra and his wife Cynthia of Milford, Jay D’Ambra and his companion Bonnie Schulz of Mansfield and Dorothy D’Ambra and her companion Mark Maguire of Foxboro. He was the dear brother of Sharon Ambrosino of Johnston, R.I. and the uncle of Justine Dutilly of Johnston, R.I., also survived by his cherished 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A memorial mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Saturday November 8th at 11:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield.
Visiting hours are omitted and burial will be private. The family request no flowers and donations in Frank’s memory may be made to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center P.O. Box 27106 New York, New York 10087-7106
