Mr. Giacomo “Jack” Bonavita, age 88 of Medford died Thursday in Winchester Hospital in Winchester. He is the husband of Esther (Marotta) with whom he shared nearly 60 years of marriage.
Born in Brooklyn NY, he was the son of the late Guisippi and Giusipina (Rizzo) Bonavita. In earlier years he had worked as a Shipper, employed by several liquor distributors. He was a true blue baseball fan, fanatical about the Boston Red Sox. He also enjoyed trips to Foxwoods and dancing. He is a life member of K of C Council #01513 of Boston’s North End and was also a member of the Malden Moose.
He is survived by a son: Joseph Bonavita and his wife Susan of Lynn, MA, 2 grandchildren, Michael Bonavita of Arlington and Lisa DePriest of Lynn, a sister Grace Nicolosi of Everett. Brother of the late Benjamin, Michael and Beatrice Bonavita and Sarah Mondalbano. Friends may call Monday from 4 thru 8 at Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. His Funeral Mass will be held at St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, Tuesday at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
