Thomas E. Burbine, 87, of Whitman, died October 29th in the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital, after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Mary E. (Bowden) Burbine. Thomas was born and raised in Whitman, son of the late Henry and Selina (Brine) Burbine. He was a lifetime resident of Whitman and a graduate of Whitman High. He served in the United States Army ,during WWII from 1942-1945.Thomas was a Union Master plumber for Local # 51, also the Plumbing Inspector in Whitman ,for many years. He was a member of the Whitman VFW, Whitman K of C, Abington Legion and the Local #51 Pipefitters Union. He enjoyed being around his family.
He is survived by his 2 sons Paul Burbine and his wife Susan of East Bridgewater and David Burbine and his wife Paula of Florida, his brother Lawrence Burbine of Bourne; also 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was also pre-deceased by many other brothers and sisters.
His services will be held November 1st at 8:15AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9:00AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman Interment will follow in the St. James Cemetery Whitman. Visitation will be held Friday October 31st from 4:00-8:00PM.Donations may be made to a Charity of One’s Choice.
