AUBURN-Shirley J. (Laplume) Denio, 66, of 9 Nancy Drive died Wednesday, April 16th in the Christopher House of Worcester. Her husband, Robert W. Denio, Sr. died in 1998. She leaves 2 sons, Robert W. Denio, Jr. of Douglas and Scott J. Denio of Rutland; her mother, Emma (Rossetti) Laplume of Worcester; a brother, Alexis J. “Jackie” Laplume, Jr. of Worcester; 4 sisters, Rose Marie Hudson, Carol Ruttencutter, Geraldine Stuart and Susan Miller all of Worcester; many nieces and nephews. A sister, Jeannette T. Burns died in March.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of the late Alexis J. LaPlume and attended Commerce High School. Mrs. Denio worked for many years as a data entry clerk for Warner & Swasey Company in Worcester retiring in 1990. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, U.S. Amateur Ballroom Dance Association and was an active member with the Auburn Senior Center.
The funeral will be Monday, April 21st from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with a mass at 9:30 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday, April 20th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
